Hi Kirsten, I have just run the report on my database and there is no option to exclude the Notes. However, I did not have the problems you describe - all my data goes into columns 1-9 I tried this on both Numbers and Excel without any data in later columns. Excel will spill the data over later colu...

Hi Kirsten, I don't know if it is best or not but I have my wife's and my family trees all in one database. I don't seem to have any problems with it and it is only about 2.5 Mbytes in size. But, I only have some 1225 people in my trees and the more you have the more it may slow down the application...

Hi Allan, If you select your Mother on the main diagram and then from the Menu bar Reports..Ancestors you will have the option to generate a report of the ancestors of just your mother. You can control the level of detail in the report but the following is a fairly full extract. I have only included...

Hi Kirsten, If you follow my other reply or just go to the menu item Reports.. It is perfectly possible to generate a Numbers spreadshee...

Hi Kirsten, I don't use those fields myself (Ancestral File & Ref. No) and the only place I have found the Ref Number is via the search field in the top right of the main screen. If you click on the little magnifying glass you should find a set of options to search for - default is Name. One of thos...

Hi Kirsten, The way I do it is to use the Event view for the person involved and then click on the last column (Sources). This brings up a requester with the event details and a + - in the bottom left. Click on the Plus (+) and select the particular Source type you have already set up. I have mine s...

Hi Kirsten, I cannot think of any reason to stop you making those changes. For the OCCU event I change 'Occupation' to the job held by that individual. There have been some discussions on the Forum over the way that iFamily exports some of the Event types in the GEDCOM files but it should not make a...

Hi Kirsten, I use the Option-Space with Surnames that need to be kept together rather than between first and Second names. To display the full name in the Diagram there is a drop down selector in the Preferences pane that alters what (and how it) is displayed. Also, it could be that 'Annemarie' is a...

Hi Mark, Not too sure what problem you are having here. Hi dankwerts, Which diagram are you trying to print out? I tried it on an Ancestors chart and did not get a 'blue box or frame'. Save as PDF is the only way to get a single sheet unless you select a paper size that is bigger than the output - difficult to do with large trees unless you can use an A0...

Hi Bill, I do not believe iFamily saves the font info as that would require all installations to have the same font set (well the ones you have selected) making it a Word processor rather than a text handler. Possible to do, but I guess Keith's KISS principle applied. Your Subject line also inclu...

Hi Martin, The problem with GEDCOM is that 5.5 is the only published standard. All the later docs are draft. Hi bauschaffender, As you say, the LAIT & LONG tags are from the 5.5.1 draft document - which is why they are not generated by iFamily which complies with the issued document.
