Will You be installing Lion when it is released in July?

Hi All,

Just a straw poll to see who will be upgrading to Lion when it is released.

Testing iFamily on the Lion platform has shown that the toolbar has some eccentiricties. After insitialization, iFamily modifies the Active Source element of the toolbar which seems to be resulting in Lion drawing that icon in isolation. A quick workaround is to right click where the toolbar should be, select "Customize Toolbar", then drag the default one back into the right area. This is a minor annoyance restricted to the User Interface and not impingant(?) upon your data. It's annoying because you need to redo this each time you open iFamily.

Versions prior to V2.522 are not aware of the Lion platform and will not run. (Same problem as was with Snow Leopard, this time preempted.) Our testing to date has not identified any other database, interface or reporting concerns with the Lion OSX.

Good, this problem has been resolved, but I am still trying to nut out why it was occurring in the first place. None of the documentation or developers forums seem to allude to it.

I will release the new version shortly.

Please upgrade to V2.526 if you are installing OSX Lion.

It will:
  • patch the toolbar bug reported above,
include Associated People on the "Disconnect Person.." Dialog,
fix the bug preventing Gedcom Import when no database is open.
Repair an intermittent bug in the installation package.
fixed bug preventing more than 32000 files to be uploaded to MobileMe.
Added a csv index to the HTML output.
If not upgrading OS soon, it's safe to wait for our next version. 2.526 is not an 'official' release because theres still more we need to include.

It has been brought to my attention that the Lion panels such as the index do not have "draggy stripes" in the bottom left hand corner to resize the window. Clicking there and dragging works all the same, I will investigate further.

Hi,

In Lion the windows can be sized from all edges (left, right, bottom & top) as well as the corner.

The mouse pointer changes to a line with an arrow head at each end when over the edge or corner.

Just normal Lion behaviour.

Nigel
