"Find" criterion changed to "Birth Place"

Recently (I'm not sure exactly when) the "Find" box in the menu bar has started doing a "Find in birth place" rather than the previous Find by name, which isn't very useful. I can't find out where to change it back, or why it changed.
I'm using version 2.9.8 and MacOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra).

Any pointers to resolve would be appreciated.

Hi Paul

Just click on the Spy Glass in the search box and select the search criteria you want from the pick list.
