Hi Kirsten, I tried doing 2 databases when I began but I found it frustrating swopping between the 2. I now have one database with over 10,000 people and don't find it slow or annoying and my sanity stays intact because it is easy to search for whoever you want rather than having to close one databa...

Source Notes

Does anybody know if there is some way I can include a selected person's Source NOTES to show in that person's Individual Reports? Event notes show but not the Source Notes unless I am missing something. I use the Source Notes quite extensively making comments of the "whys and wherefores" of t...

Warwick,

I like the new icon.

It stands out and is distinctive, which is good because it is the one that gets used the most!

Please don&#39t change it. Put your energies into other developments.

New version

Hi Warwick, I have just downloaded the latest version V.2.511 and I love all the new additions and changes. You have done a brilliant job and I especially love the "Add an Associated Person". That is a fabulous addition. Thank you for all your time and hard work. I, for one, really appreciate what y...

To have the option of the focal person in the centre of the screen is exactly what I want. I have great faith in our talented programmers who I am sure could make it happen. :)

John, Now you have finally seen the light you will never return to the "dark side". What is there to return to? :D I had a very brief moment of "Windows madness" when I got my MacBook Pro but when it came down to it I really couldn't see the point so didn't bother. I would never have used it a...

Thank you John for your reply. The bow tie and/or hour glass chart is just what I am trying to achieve, but not necessarily with so many generations on each side. I want to view on the diagram pane a couple of generations of both descendants and ancestors. In areas where I am not familiar with the f...

Ok, good point. I hadn't really thought it though in the mathematical sense, and I can see what you mean. A family of 16 children (and I have a few of those) could expand dramatically in just one generation. However, there are times with smaller families it would be useful to see beyond the child...

Thanks for your help. I have had a play with the project views but none of it seems to do what I want, but then again maybe I am just not seeing the obvious, or maybe you are right and it is just not possible. :(

Focal Person

Hello to fellow ifamily users, Can anybody tell me if there is a way to put the focal person in the centre of the diagram so that it shows the focal person with a couple of generations of descendants to the left and a couple of generations of ancestors to the right so both are easily seen at one tim...
