Associated People

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that my associated people xfer to my HTML pages.

However, what do I need to toggle on so that the association explanation will appear? I sort of expect there to be some link visible from primary person to their associates, and vice versa.....

Suggestions?

Add url to a person's page

I'm generating the HTML pages which will be hosted at ipage They'll also be burned to DVDs. That's fine. I'm also using Jalbum to create HTML files with photos, which I'm also hosting at iPage, and will also burn to the DVD. Any suggestion on how I can add the url for each person's photo album to th...

Ok - I have hosting space via iPage, and I loaded the files via FileZilla's FTP. It's great. Ran into one complication. When the images were being transferred (and I had iFamily set to only transfer a thumbnail, and only of the focus person), my FTP kept saying that there were duplicate files.... no...

I inherited a gedcom from a relative, which I imported and merged. That's fine. But, many of their death dates are blank, and I would like to set them to Y. We're talking about approximately 1000 people. I guess, I would like to say: if Birthdate is null or before 1920, and Deathdate is null then De...

Hello @nfcarrier

I do have all the index.html file and all the other html files at googledocs, dropbox etc.

From my godaddy site, I link to the index.html file. That's fine. It opens properly.

BUT - > when I then click anything from the index to go to another page, I get the 403 error message.

Hosting the HTML pages

Hello - I have my HTML files generated, and they work fine from my harddrive. I can also successfully burn them to a CD. What I am trying to do is upload them to a site which hosts files (such as googledocs, 4shared, dropbox), and then, from my website, link to the INDEX.HTML file, and then have all...

Nomenclature

I'm sure this is simple, but my mind is muddled. I'm preparing output for my relatives. I'm including a wide range of people. I need to identify people as being direct descendants of FAMILY-NAME, or if they married into FAMILY-NAME. So what is the terminology??? Direct vs Indirect? Direct vs In-law ...

I used Event->Places as intended, and cleaned up my data. Thank you - it's a great tool.

And now I have a nice neat export to a csv file, and I can manipulate it easily to have the output I need.

Thanks!

Here's the nuance.

Workflow 1: Write story, Generate Story, Edit->Undo
This clears everything, including the story I just wrote

Workflow 2: Write story, move to another tab, move back to Story Tab, Generate Story, Edit->Undo
This clears just the historical data

Can we have a little brainstorming here about this? What do you put in Notes vs Comments, vs Stories?
