Re: Italics in fields

My specific need is to break away from the built-in source format and add freeform source information; in doing so I would like to italicize certain words (titles) when appropriate. When I tried to change the font, it changed the entire field. Am I missing something? My limited knowledge of databas...

Hi Bob Many thanks for your detailed list of windows that do not respond to Cmd+W. I will investigate all of them and make the necessary changes in the next release of iFamily, however, some of the panels are "floating child panels" and the current Apple Human Interface Guideline (HIG) says that suc...

Re: add a sibling

I'm sure there's a cleverer way, but what I do in that situation is create 'phantom' parents to attach the children to e.g. Mr Smith and Mrs Smith (use whatever your surname is) which allows you to continue until you get the evidence for what they are actually called. Also works the other way for "...

Re: Images for events

Keith, Are there any plans to allow photos for an event in addition to people and sources? It seems like, for example, a wedding photo should be attached to the Marriage Event instead of to both individuals separately. Thanks, Jon Hi Jon If you drag the same image into iFamily more than once then iF...

The simplest solution is to give the user the choice of binary or decimal representations. However, to interpret a decimal Ahnentafel number the first thing a reader has to do is to mentally convert it to a binary string of 0's and 1's.

Will provide the option in V2.502

Hi

I have added a new FAQ at

Where do I put Notes and Comments?

which may explain the way that iFamily was intended to handle the information in the Notes, Comments and Story fields.

Children are sorted by Birth date followed by Name. If none of the children has a birth date then the sort is in name sequence. So, if none of the children has a birth date then, until you have found their birth dates, you can prefix each name with a numeric number, for instance I added three childr...

The default list only includes "E-mail message" I suspect that you have imported a Gedcom file that had "Email" as a Source Type and that iFamily created an extra type to accommodate your data. If you want to combine them all into one Source Type then: Open Sources Add/Edit dialog Click on the colum...

In iFamily you can add as many Source Types as you like - you are not constrained to using the list that is there by default. For instructions on adding a new Source Type click on the Help button to the right of Source Type in the Sources Add/Edit dialog

Hi Marion There are two reports in the "Events -> Places" dialog - one is RTF and the other is CSV format.
