Re: Change the order of spouses for a person
Just add an approximate marriage date for example: abt 1914; aft 1915, bef 1920; they don't have to be exact. This should re-order the spouses accordingly.

Switch to TextEdit instead of pages to print using the rtdf format or be sure to use the version of pages prior to the latest version which came with the upgrade to OS 10.9 Mavericks. At least TextEdit is free with the OS.

Re: How to insert a partner (boyfriend or girlfriend)
I don't believe you can change the event type but you can delete it and if necessary re-add it. If there is a marriage event listed in your great grand father's events then it can be deleted. Once this is done, select the "Family" tab and then click on "wife" or whatever appears above your great gra...

RE: Correcting, updating website
Need a little more information with regard to what you are attempting to do; however, generating web pages in iFamily will give you a slew of html files which reflect any changes each time you generate the pages. Uploading to your server which hosts your web site is another matter but generally spea...

RE: Printable Index
It appears that the only way to print the index is to create a CSV file and import that into a spread sheet program or maybe even a program such as TextWrangler. You will find this by clicking on the "Index" label on the main screen of iFamily.

How do I Export iFamily Gedcom to another program?
When you generate a gedcom with iFamily the program lists the location of the file when the generation of the file is complete. I don't use MFT but I am assuming it is similar to other genealogy programs so there is probably a function for importing a gedcom into MFT.

Upload IFamily to Home Page
One option is to use Dropbox which is a free app. Basically, you could generate your web page with iFamily either directly to Dropbox or in a separate folder and then move that to Dropbox. I believe you could either place the web pages in a public folder on Dropbox or alternatively, use a different ...

In the main screen select the "Pictures" tab. The left-most photo in the resulting screen is the photo which will show for the specified person. One can use a place-holder if one doesn't want any specific photo to be displayed. The photos can be repositioned by dragging and dropping them. Of course ...

RE: Transfer data to other genealogy program on PC
Yes, to transfer data from iFamily to another genealogy program create a GEDCOM file which then needs to be imported into the other genealogy program. In iFamily: File->Export->Export GEDCOM->Whole Database or one of the other options depending on what your intent is such as sharing some data with a...

I'm unclear how you are actually uploading your web pages to your site. When I look at the paths for the name page on your site they refer to the paths specifically on your Mac. A folder such as TheNameOfYourIfamilyFile_WebPages should be found in the Reports folder after you have completed the Gene...

It appears as if you haven't taken the second step after generating HTML for your web site which is "Preparing HTML files for upload to other web site". Once you do that, you should be able to navigate your iFamily web pages.

You really only need one ftkSql file in Dropbox and the iFamily program file on each computer. Your photos can be treated the same way. If you and your wife have created separate trees then two separate database files seems appropriate.

Many, if not most, hosting sites offer MySQL, PHP as part of the service, this is not the case with something such as MobileMe for example. So you may have access to MySQL and PHP both of which are needed to use TNG software. I realize this has nothing to do with the HTML options currently available...
