I need to update my version of iFamily. My current OS is: Mac OS Ventura 13.5.2
I have been unable to find my "receipt" of my initial purchase of iFamily.
I purchased it in January 2009, or earlier than that.
I cannot open my iFamily.
Please help. Thank you.

A helpful reply has value for years. I was able to address a Pictures issue on my iFamily by referring to this old post. Thank you to “elmwood” for posting the question and to Warwick for answering it!

Nigel, Dennis, and others, I apologize, Nigel, for not responding sooner to your last helpful post. Suddenly the reunion days had arrived and we were absorbed with all those activities. I had found the same thing as you did . . . that I had misnamed what I was working on - chart vs. report, and the ...

From the main pane where we build our tree, I choose myself as the Focal Person and then go to the top and click on Ancestors. In that new window, I click on Customise Defaults at the bottom right of the screen. I choose: Full Name, Birth Date/Place, Death Date/Place, Spouses, Siblings, Cascaded, Sc...

Since, in our country, we read from left to right, it makes sense to me that a timeline would go from left to right with the oldest date being on the left and the most recent on the right. That puts your ancestors on the left and the newest members of the family on the right. I am able to achieve th...

As I posted in the thread - Something I should be aware of before I start . . . This is how I resolved it: James Jones changed his name (completely) to Sam Smith. I entered it as James Jones aka Sam Smith, thus listing the initial legal name first, followed by the new name. I used the same process f...

I posted a related question elsewhere. This is how I resolved it: James Jones changed his name (completely) to Sam Smith. I entered it as James Jones aka Sam Smith, thus listing the initial legal name first, followed by the new name. I used the same process for the entire family; the children’s fi...

Presenting Genealogy at Family Reunion
I am seeking suggestions for presenting a plethora of genealogy information at a family reunion in June. I have a large binder with copies of letters, certificates, lists, etc. which one or two individuals could sit down and browse together. However, I need a way to present copious amounts of “tre...

Something I should be aware of before I start?
Thank you Kirsten, for posting the questions, and thank you dennisb, for the specific replies. I found them to be very helpful too! I am planning to reenter my tree now that I have a clearer understanding of what methods of entry will make it all work better.

Ancestors vs. Descendants View
When I moved my tree from my old MAC to my new MAC, the view switched from ancestors to descendants view. I'm talking about the page one makes changes on. I want to see the youngest people on the right. Can I change this?

Thank you, Nigel, for responding to my inquiry. I do know how to create the Descendant diagram. Perhaps I should first ask . . . is the screen/page with the extension .FtkSql (blue background, gray boxes) a series of independent pages with groups of information or . . . when one changes the Focal Pe...

Scrolling Across Decades
Is there a way to scroll laterally across decades other than continually changing the Focal Person?
