Re: Web Page Generation Changed?
Hi Rob, I believe that the Web pages are generated as relatives of the Focal Person. I have just generated the webpages for my tree and it seems to include many people - cannot tell if anyone is missing but it is certainly not just a few. There are a number of Index pages in the Web_Pages folder. Re...

Re: Migration to Windows
Hi Andrew No experience with Windows based family tree apps but I’m sure a net search will offer some candidates. To transfer you need to export the whole database as a gedcom file along with the folder of pictures. iFamily will generate both at the same time in the iFamily data folder. You would th...

Re: Adding Music or Video files
Hi,
You are supposed to be able to add audio & video files in the Pictures pane by Copy & Paste or Drag/Drop but it does not seem to be working.
This is one for Warwick to resolve as it has probably become broken in some update or other.

Re: OS 11 Big Sur
Not with the current build. Warwick is working on a Big Sur update (he had the developer Mac Mini as I understand it) which will be released as soon as it is ready. I don’t know when that will be but I am hoping for soon. V2.9.9 briefly appeared in the Members area but that has gone again so the wai...

Hi
The latest version is ok on El Capitan so I would download it from the members area (follow the link)
It should handle the database migration.
Let us know how you get on

Re: Tried opening after some time away....
Hi The new versions are in the Members Forum area under the first post. The update was chargeable to help fund ongoing support. As you say “iFamily for Leopard” I’m guessing it has been a long time so your version of macOS may be too old for the latest version. I think there is information on the ma...

Hi
This problem was noticed a while ago but I’m not sure if Warwick has a fix yet.
Previous messages:

Force quit seems to get through the close problem without data loss (as far as I can tell) but clearly not ideal.
Cheers

Hi
Select the person you wish to 'Disconnect' (Leave the Parent as the Focal Person)
Right click on the Person to Disconnect and select 'Disconnect Person' from the drop down menu (third in the list).
Hope that helps,
Nigel

Hi Kirsten,
Thanks for the detailed notes on how to achieve that list. I hadn't tried that before so it is good to know.
Well done for working out what you did.
Kindest regards

Hi Kirsten, Not sure how you got your single line or the earlier one. Using the 'Reports ... Selected Person Only' menu option I managed to generate the following: Ancestors Report for George TOMLINSON Created on Tuesday 24-Sep-19 at 15:28 George TOMLINSON, M, b. abt 1786, d. 02 Mar 1855, m.(1) 24 N...

Hi Kirstin, I think what you are trying to achieve comes form the People menu ... Index... This can generate s CSV file containing the information you are after and allows you to select family names, user names plus other information. Hope that is the one you are after, if not let me know. Do you mean that you are using the macOS screenshot function to do this or something within iFamily?
I only have access to my laptop which is running Catalina at the moment so I cannot check it out.

Hi Tony, The Ancestor & Descendent charts seem to print OK for me. At least up to the content of the print requester showing the names. Have you tried 'Save as PDF' option? I usually do this as it saves on paper and allows me to view and send to others. You can always print from Preview if it works ...

Hi
You can disconnect the person from the parent which will have the effect of hiding him/her.
Not sure if there is any other way.

Hi If you have network connection for your different Macs then you could try what I do which is to use the iCloud as the location for my iFamily folder. The only issue I have found is to make sure you close the app on a Mac when you want to open it up on another machine. You can have a different dat...

Hi Michelle,
I haven't seen a problem with the Reports option being greyed out - it is all fine for me.
Only see grey menu options if there is no open database.
Can you put up some more info on the versions you are using?
Regards,
Nigel
