Where do I enter occupation and residence

Originally posted by nakedbear Ok, I may be dumb, but I want to have things in the right fields for exporting to Gedcom. How do I detach a person as spouse?

  • Right click the person that you want to detach.
  • Choose 'Disconnect person'
  • From that list select wife/husband, etc

In any case, putting the alias into the Name field still causes the difficulty in merging database entries. Thanks for a great idea. When comparing names in a merge function iFamily could/should strip out any words that are contained within quotes or within parentheses before comparing the people's...

Exported Gedcom does not include source location?

Hi Scott

I will have a look at giving the user the option to convert the _LOCN info into a suitable REPO record but it may be shark infested water. At least one of the apps that you mentioned is somewhat badly behaved (awful) regarding the way it exports Source data to a Gedcom file.

Keith, Assuming for the moment that you did implement it, when we would export our file to a GEDCOM, what would happen to that formatted text?
