Hi Kirsten, I think the only way you can do this is to enter something in the marriage field under the Family tab. This can be the date or place (possibly a note) and don't forget to press enter. The date could be abt 1800 or anything reasonable - before birth of first child if that date is known fo...

HI, I think I would assume that each generation is about 25 years so 200 years = 8 generations. Enter the ancestor and insert a notional descendant with an appropriate name (unknown1 FAMILYNAME, Unknown2 FAMILYNAME etc) for the generations until you reach the known part of the family. Comments with ...

Hi, A Source Citation (a specific Sourced reference) is associated with an event. Â I have not been able to thing of a source reference that would not be related to an event. A Source could be the GRO Birth Certificates register and a Source Citation would be for the Birth of A. Relative on a specif...

Hi, If I am reading you correctly then the problem does lie in the way you are using Sources. Under the Add/Edit sources menu you will find the area where you can enter the sources of each type. I have on for each Census year (here in the UK), one for Marriage Certificate, one for Birth Certificates...

Hi Mike, Are you aware that you can make an Event entry the 'Active' one and then Clone it for other people? There is a limited set of events that can be used for this at the moment but Warwich was talking about extending the range available. I believe is is covered in another posting so a search sh...

Hi Again, The display on each person tile (for want of a better term) in the Context diagram is controllable via the Preferences panel - the drop down box near the top. You can also change the info displayed by using the scroll wheel on the mouse (or two fingers on a track pad) over the tile. Hope t...

Hi, The Relatives tab allows you to generate a list of the relatives of the 'selected' person but this is limited to : Children, Grandparents, GrandChildren, GreatGrandChildren, Siblings, Aunts/Uncles, Cousins, Nephews/Nieces and InLaws. There does not seem to be a Consanguinity report - at least I ...

Hi,
See my reply in http://www.ifamilyforleopard.com/forums ... .php?t=911 to a similar question.
Basically, you need to set up a project view with yourself as Root person.
Regards,
Nigel

Hi WendyRobin, I think there is a slightly confusing use of the word 'Focal' person in iFamily as it can be used for two things. Mainly the 'Focal Person' is the one who is the 'main one' in the Context diagram - where you can add Spouse, children etc. The other use really should be the 'Root' perso...

Warwick has said in another thread that the is going to extend the source types from the limited set currently available. Maybe this will be wha...

I don't know of one but if the date field allowed a time of birth to be set as well as the date then it would be possible. It would appear to have an alphabetical sorting order with a Capital initial letter taking preference over a lower case one. Bit of a pain but you could try using a lower case i...

Hi Dot, I assume you mean that you do not have Excel leading to this error. When you generate the report it uses the default application to open the .csv file type which is set in Finder. I am not sure why it is set as excel if you do not have the application but it can be changed in the following w...

Hi Cazzy, OK, I'd call that an Ancestor's chart or diagram rather than a report - which I why I did not understand. Hi, The App Warwick referred to is Air Sharing which does allow data to be transferred but is not very quick with lots of files in folders - it wanted to take 3 hours for one family tree (the sample royal one). Hi Kirsten, I think the only way to avoid a picture being shown is to add a Place holder in the pictures pane.
