What's new in V1.202

What's New in Version 1.202

1. Handles on Relationship Lines

We have added a handle (a small button) to each relationship line in the main diagram. Too many people asked "how do I change a relationship" and had to be reminded to "click and drag the mouse pointer over the relationship line", so it obviously wasn't intuitive. If you do not like the relationship handles then you can turn them off in the preferences panel.

2. Ancestor/Descendant Diagrams

We have added a new diagram which can be accessed from the Ancestors or Descendants tab view panels - using a button called Diagram. This new multi-pupose diagram can also be invoked by Right Click on a person in the main diagram and then selecting Ancestors/Descendants Diagram from the pop-up menu.

  • The diagrams are interactive and the data is bound directly to the database.

They are best viewed when maximised to full screen.

You can navigate using the arrow keys or by clicking with the left mouse button.

Right click on any person displays a popup menu.

The Toolbar contains spin buttons to adjust Generations, Column Width, and Font Size.

You can also toggle the selections for Cascaded/Centred, Scrunched/Open, Horizontal/Vertical and to show Ancestors/Decendants. In vertical mode the Descendants chart is top-down and the Ancestors chart is bottom-up.

You can single click on a spin button or hold it down, let it spin and watch the diagrams grow or contract.

The Print options allow you to preview the page layout and any of the Toolbar options may be changed whilst the preview mode is active.

Pages are overlapped slightly to assist you to align them if paste-ups are needed. Where possible the page breaks avoid the textual fields.

You can change the destination page size in Page Setup. Printing has not yet been tested with roll fed plotters but it should work fine - please let me know what works/does not work on which printer.

Note: If you adjust the Scaling Factor in the Page Setup panel then it will be ignored - the diagram will always be printed as WYSIWYG 100%
