Missing Data on a newly created GEDCOM file

Post by seacount » Sat Dec 01, 2012 11:03 pm

When I exported my tree to a GEDCOM file to be uploaded to Ancestery.com it was missing all Marriage information. Just to be sure I imported that GEDCOM into iFamily as sure enough all the marriage data was missing. Any help would be appreciated. I am running iFamily V 2.753 on OSX 10.8.2.

Thanks so much, Elliott

Hi,

The following link covered the same problem:

http://ifamilyforleopard.com/forums/vie ... ta+missing

Warwick was unable to reproduce the problem then so it might be necessary to communicate with him about this issue.

Did you create the original file in iFamily or was it imported from another GEDCOM file?

I will try an export here to see if I have the problem now (previous exports have been OK).

Hi Again,

Just tested an export and the details seem to be there when importing into Reunion 10.

Can you be more specific as to which details of the marriage are missing?

Such as Dates, place, notes etc.

Hi Nigel, thanks for your reply. All my data was created using iFamily. The export was out of the latest version of iFamily V2.753 using OSX 10.8.2. The data missing are the marriage dates and location. I don't usually use marriage notes so I can't answer about that data. What is interesting is that I created a GEDCOM about a month and a half ago using the same software as above, and all that data came up fine in Ancestery.com I was going to replace that file with a newer updated file this past week when I notices the marriage data was missing in ancestry.com. I also reloaded that same GEDCOM file back into iFamily and sure enough the marriage data was missing

This may be related to the miscalculation of natural parents in v2.753.

Elliot, I will send you link a beta of the latest build after work tonight to test this possibility.
