Lost Gedcom?

Post by dcaisley » Mon Dec 22, 2014 9:47 pm

I am running Yosemite 10.10.1 and IFamily 2.895 every time I generate a Gedcom it gives me the file name, but when I try to find it to then export it to another programme I am unable to locate it anywhere on my hd
where does IFamily put it?

The generated file should be in /Users/"yourname"/iFamilyData and should be listed as "whatever-you-named-your-ifamily-file.GED

Hope this helps.

Tom,

Thanks for the info but I cannot find it on my hd, did a search for "users" in all my files on the hd and drew a blank and cannot find it within the IFamily programme?

David,

The filename will be shown at the top of the export gedcom dialog as shown in the red box on the attachment below.

Clicking the "Show Me" button at the end of the process will open the file for you, form where you can save it somewhere else if you wish.
