Exporting GEDCOM file to Ancestry.com

Post by bruno » Tue Dec 09, 2008 9:25 pm

I am having problems exporting a GEDCOM file to Ancestry.com. After generating a GEDCOM file in iFamily for Leopard (I have turned off "Indented Gedcom Lines" and "Include Custom Tags"), and modifying Line 14 to ANSI as suggested in FAQ, I still get a message from Ancestry saying the file "does not appear to be a valid GEDCOM file.

Any suggestions??

Hi Bruno,

If you use this forum's Search function (in the blue links at the top right of the page) you may find the solution.

This one in particular could help: iFamily Help/Post subject: Trouble loading gedcom file into ancestry.com - Posted: Thu Apr 17, 2008

Hi Bruno,

Please email me the gedcom file and I will see what I can come up with for this.

Regards,
Warwick.
