Adding Last Change Date to GEDCOM Exports

Post by tomk » Sat Sep 12, 2009 5:11 pm

Earlier today I updated a post in iFamily Help section of this forum some postings from last year where I was asking about Last Change Date being included in GEDCOM Exports.

Since this option doesn&#39t seem to exist I&#39m adding it here as an Enhancement Request.

When GEDCOMs are imported into iFamily, if it includes a DATE record, this is used to populate iFamily&#39s Date Last Change. As information is added/changed for an individual, iFamily tracks the changed date.

On the imported GEDCOM the following records are used to populate iFamily database:
1 _UID 8B5A60C04C2B46EF9D4630E57AC7611E690A
1 CHAN
2 DATE 20 Aug 2009
3 TIME 18:05

However when a GEDCOM is exported from iFamily, there does not seem to be an option to include the Date Last Changed information.

The last change date is important in order to update my website running TNG to populate what&#39s new in the database.

Several other desktop genealogy programs allows one to specify which fields, events, etc. are exported in a GEDCOM.

Can this functionality be added to iFamily?

Thanks,

Tom
