Dragging photo from website

A JPG photo dragged from a website is converted to a TIFF file in iFamily. If I drag a JPG to an open finder window or mail and then drag it to iFamily, it stays a JPG file. Is there a preference setting I have missed to keep the JPG file extension when dragging from a Website to iFamily? I have just noticed my ifamily picture folder has a lot of very large TIFF files which I will need to convert back to JPG's. thanks, Larry
