Where to add DNA information?

Post by VivCourt » Fri Aug 26, 2016 3:40 pm

Hi

Is there a section to add DNA results or DNA information to profiles?

Is this perhaps a new feature that will be added :) ...

Thanks
Viv

I wanted a way to indicate who in my family tree have had their DNA tested

My solution was to used the DNA emoji 🧬 (copy it to favourites so it is easy to find) Emojis can be found in the 'Edit' drop down menu

For those in my tree who have had their DNA tested I paste the emoji after their middle name(s) (or after their first name if no middle name). The nice thing is you can search for the 🧬 in the index window - just paste it into the 'Given Names contain" box. It also appears when you generate a Descendants tree.

I too would appreciate a Tab created for DNA.
Useful info that needs to be collected and recorded includes …

* Amount of DNA Shared (cM)
* MRCA (most recent common ancestor)
* Testing company

I hope the inclusion of DNA is being considered in next year’s big update.
Keep up the good work Warick. It is greatly appreciated.
