NotesAdvice Error

Post by ctrunfree » Sat Nov 26, 2016 4:52 am

Hi

Just recently when I try and add data to the Birth or Death notes boxes I get a pop-up message which just says "NotesAdvice". It prevents any data being put in those boxes. Can someone tell me how to get around this?

I will need to fix this for the next release, "NotesAdvice" is a key for the languages dictionary and should read:
"Use the Notes button to edit this multi-line field."

If you want to fix it immediately, open the iFamily for Mac.app applciaiton package, go to the resources folder and find the Localizable.strings file then replace
"Advice" = "Use the Notes button to edit this multiline field.";
with
"NotesAdvice" = "Use the Notes button to edit this multi-line field.";

Thanks Warwick. When is the next release due, and will it allow data to be input into the boxes?

Hi,

Just a note to say that I do not have this issue.

I am using the latest release (2.9.4) on macOS 10.12 Sierra

Regards,

Nigel

I have to say it's not just a matter of fixing the wording that comes up for the pop-up message. The current problem means I can't edit for eg the Death Notes field at all, even when opening the whole Death Notes box.

I'm running 0SX 10.11.6 El Capitan on an early 2015 Macbook Air.
