Using place when adding an Event

I looked again and found a separate immigration event --what is the distinction in for use in iFamily? Emigration is defined as having focus from the point of origin so I am confused about the use of an immigration event.

Also Emigration has one " m" and the event list adds it as " Emmigration" .

You may have answered your own question.

Use emigration location to describe where they left from (either their town of origin or the point of embarkation).
Use immigration location to describe where they arrived (either the town of destination or the point of disembarkation).

I must admit that I have probably not been consistent about this.

The other way to think about it is how you want the information to show up in a report.
