Uploading to GenesReunited

I recently switched to IFamilyForTiger, I like it very much, especially how it interacts with iPhoto. I am still having problems uploading to GenesReunited. I have contacted them, but get just a general reply or am ignored. This is unfortunate as I have contacted a number of vague relatives through this site and they would like to see my updated tree.

As you can see the problem is probably not application specific but may be related to the MAC and OS 10.40.10. I have also received some feedback from others using MACs, at lease some are having similar problems.

Any ideas/suggestions?

PS One thing I like about MacFamilyTree is its ability to create a HTML file, is iFamilyForTiger moving in that direction?

Now why didn't I think of that! ::) I've been firing uo XP under Vmware Fusion just to do the upload with IE!
Now I can leave windows just for my work related stuff.

<rant>I didn't get much joy from genesreunited myself when I informed them, they just replied &quot well it works here&quot , typical narrow minded Windows only shop viewpoint. </rant over>

It will be good if apple fixes safari so this works, I must say Safari 3.0 final is much better than the beta with respect to rendering these sights correctly.

Hi

Can you try the following and tell me if it works or not.

1. Generate a Gedcom file from iFamily for Tiger

2. Open the Gedcom file in TextEdit

3. Save the Gedcom file from TextEdit - the file will now be 3 bytes shorter because the UTF-8 byte order mark is not saved by TextEdit.

Now try using Safari, Firefox, whatever... to upload it to GenesUnited.

If the above does not work then use TextEdit to change the 12th line of the file - replace UTF-8 with ANSI before saving it and try uploading it again.

Given that they all work in Firefox I guess it's Safari's Javascript that's at fault.

From what I read it should all be fixed in Safari 3.0.4 which you get when you install the latest security fix.

Can anyone confirm that Safari V3.0.4 uploads OK to Genes?

Rather than a screen that never updates, I now get a screen that says " Upload Error - Sorry there has been an unexpected error."

Same file works as usual in Firefox. Does anyone else get the same?
