Screenshot?

Post by chadant » Tue Jul 30, 2019 7:47 am

I have been trying to print a screenshot of a section of my ancestors. When I open the dialogue box I am given a choice of "diagram only" or "full page". When I click on the latter, a blank green screen is shown. When I scroll down, no data appear. When I click on "diagram only", a dialogue box gives a choice of where I want to save it, but no matter which location I choose, the result is always "save failed". I am running the latest version of iFamily on macOS Mojave 10.14.5. Suggestions?

Hi Tony

Do you mean that you are using the macOS screenshot function to do this or something within iFamily?

I only have access to my laptop which is running Catalina at the moment so I cannot check it out.

Regards

Nigel

Hi Tony,

I have just set up my laptop with Mojave on an external disk to try this.

I see that you were using the 'File... Screenshot the diagram' menu item within iFamily.

I tried it had had the same results so this is one for Warwick to add to his list of bugs for a future update.

Cheers,

Nigel

ps - You can use the built in macOS screenshot capability to capture the family tree as it is shown (CMD-Shift-4)

Hi Nigel, Thanks for that useful tip. And a belated thank-you for the advice on moving child (and descendants) to an earlier generation! Cheers! Tony
