My data base for a particular family tree has grown too large and I need to remove the data of one family and start them off in a separate database. Is there an easy way of doing this?
Many thanks
Jan

Hi
Firstly, make a copy of your database.
Then using the copy database, disconnect people connected to the root person you want to have as the basis of the new tree that you don’t want to include.
This is usually the parents of the partner of the root.
Then, select File…Export… Export Gedcom…All people related to Focal person
You should be able to import the exported gedcom file into a new database.
Hope that helps
