Hi Jim
1, You import a Gedcom file into a new iFamily database.
2. You then inspect it and make sure it is clean and has as many birth dates as possible, event if they are only approximate dates.
3. You then have two options
A) Use File - Compare and Merge
OR
B) Merge branches of people using the method described in this Forum under
What's New - Merging Databases With Version 1.214
