Asking for an admin password is an option in the installer package. It can be turned on if you prefer but personally I like to keep things simple. Does anyone else out there want to pitch in on this one?

Simple is great.

The latest security update makes the finder prompt for administrator password whenever admin privileges are used eg installing programs. iFamily always prompts for my password now.
