Searching for words, phrases, etc., in "Notes"

Post by gerard35 » Wed Mar 31, 2010 9:24 pm

I frequently have occasion to look for a person in my file by a phrase or word. For example, I have a memory of someone in my file coming over on the Mayflower, but memory escapes me as to which person it was. How can I search for "Mayflower" (or some such word or phrase) in Notes?

From Ifamily help:

Searching for People

The search field at the RH end of the toolbar is based on "words that start with" - so to search for Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor you would enter e a m w or eliz win. Or, if you have activated Names and Titles search then you could simply search for q e ii. The search is case insensitive. You may use the drop down menu at the left hand end of the search field to search on Names, Names and Titles, Notes, Comments, Birth Place, Birth Year, Death Place, Death Year, Cause of Death, Numeric Id and Reference Id. You may also use the search field to find people who are not connected to anyone else.
