Switching the order of Spouses

Post by jackie DeRoo » Wed Jun 30, 2010 2:42 am

I have a situation where I have inadvertently added spouses in the wrong order - I realize now that the spouse/partner #1 is not the current spouse but rather is the first chonologically. My problem is this - I know the spouses names but not the dates - I can "force" a switch by putting in artificial marriage dates but it doesn&#39t "stick" when I remove the dates.
Q - is there some way to change the order of spouses/partners when one doesn&#39t know the marriage dates? Also the next wrinkle is - what if there wasn&#39t a marriage at all - but just a new Partner?

Was this question ever answered? I&#39d also like to know how to handle this.

I believe I&#39ve now fixed this in my tree. I hope this will work for you if you haven&#39t already fixed yours.

In the tree, click on the first spouse&#39s name you had typed in. In the "editing pane" below, highlight her name and type in the correct name, thus the right name replaces the incorrect name. Continue with the next spouse(s).

The order was unaffected by the dates.
