Using Chinese name order

Post by DuncanFrance » Wed Sep 22, 2010 8:41 am

I have started a family tree for a Chinese family. I am finding it very difficult to handle the fact that in Chinese names the Family Name comes first.

Is it possible to change the settings to take this into account.

I would like to &#39do&#39 the family trees of the Chinese emperors. This will mean having to handle a large number of Concubines... Is this possible?

Thanking you in advance

Hi Duncan,

I don&#39t believe there is a way to change the order of names but no doubt Warwick can advise if it is available (ma be in the localisation settings) or could be added.

As to the number of Concubines.

You could treat them as &#39partners&#39 if there were any recorded offspring in order to trace the genealogy of the descendants.

Alternatively, you could treat them as &#39Associated Persons&#39 so they can be linked to the Emperor but now in a &#39Family&#39 way.

Hope that helps,

Nigel
