Copying all data in iFamily for Leopard from iMac to MacBook

Post by John C M » Wed Mar 16, 2011 3:28 pm

I have now almost completed my family tree as far as I can go and all data has been entered on my iMac. I now wish to copy this data from the iMac to my MacBook pro in order to take it to a relative to see if she can fill in some gaps (hence the need to be portable). Is there any way this data can be copied to the MacBook without backing up the data and copying it to the MacBook as a back up?

Copy your ~/iFamilyData/ folder onto a USB thumb drive or an external drive to transport it to the second Mac. You will also need to install iFamily on the second Mac in order to view and edit the data.

You can locate the ~/iFamilyData/ folder in your user home directory, your databases will be the files with the FtkSql file extensions.

Please email me if you require any assistance.
