iFamily for iPad

Post by mrhuston » Mon Jun 27, 2011 5:12 am

We are doing a little travelling this summer and may be in places where I can touch on some family history. It would be great to have iFamily on my iPad so that I have access to my data without having to try to do some kind of transfer of data between programs. Will we see a new version?

Try GedView

One tool that you can use with an iPad is GedView. As the name implies, it is meant as a means of viewing a gedcom file (that you can import in a variety of ways.)

You may have noticed that a competitor announced yesterday an iPad app that can also be used as a means to enter or edit data, then synching with a mac version of the data.

As well as a viewer, Gedview also allows you to enter data, which you can later import into iFamily later.

The competitor is Synium Software which recently released MobileFamilyTree Pro for IOS devices.
