Generating Descendants Report

Post by handicap18 » Wed Nov 27, 2013 5:23 pm

When I go to generate a descendants report I get the following error message:

""Descendants_1.rtfd” could not be handled because Pages cannot open files in the “rich text with attachments (RTFD)” format."

I have no way to send the info to Pages. Is there anything else I can do or is there a way to fix this? I get the same message when using RTF.

Thanks

I got a report about his from another customer too yesterday, maybe pages has updated? The other report said textedit also was refusing to open them.

The same will be happening for Ancestors reports et al.

I will look into redoing all the reports in another format at some stage. This may well be broken for a month or so until I can get time to investigate, fix and release it. In the meantime, does anyone have a suggestion of a (preferably free) text editor that can open rtf and rtfd documents, perhaps allowing them to be resaved as a different format.

The new Pages 5.0 indeed does not handle RTFD files. If you didn't delete the old Pages, it is still on your machine. I just right clicked on an RTFD file and opened with Pages. The old Pages opened the file OK. Hope this helps.
