Hi Melissa,

You need to update to iFamilyForMac version 2.9.3 when using El Capitan

It is available in the members forum section.

You may need to find the file you want to open as I think there is an issue with keeping the recent list. I'm sure Warwick will add any migration issues.

Regards

Nigel

Thanks for your reply Nigel.

I have also been in email contact with Warwick. There is a problem with being able to access my family tree by clicking on the iFamily leaf icon in my dock. It just keeps giving me an error message.

I have emailed Warwick about this and I hope he has a solution for me.
Thanks

Melissa

Hi Melissa

Did you get this problem resolved? I have encountered the same problem today and despite downloading upgrades I am no further forward.

Hi Anne, yes I resolved it simply once I asked Warwick to walk me through the steps. I am not at home now - need access to my desktop to forward or post the reply I got from Warwick' to you in full. I will do this later tonight or tomorrow for you.
Alternatively you could message Warwick and ask him to send you the detailed steps he sent to me.

Kind regards
Melissa

Melissa,

Could you email me the El Capitan steps, too, please? [Admin: email address removed]

I am unable to open iFamily, atm.

Panicking a bit.

Kind thanks

Don't worry, Melissa! I got it from the web.

(Why is it that I panic first, then think second.)

:)

Works now.

I'm having the same problem. Can't see or open my family tree file since I've upgraded to El Capitan, even though I have the latest release of iFamily. Many years work at stake here, getting in a bit of a panic too!
