Connect Disconnected Ancestors

To use " Attach Existing Person As ..." the people you are tring to connect must both have birth years - approximate years will do - for instance enter " about 1920"

Does that solve the problem?

Maybe you need to increase the age range at the bottom of the dialog.

Thanks, but I did increase the age range and checked it against the actual age of parent before I tried again. Also, in some tries, the person I am trying to add is not even on the list. The family (Taliaferro) have both birth and death dates. I tried adding the disconnected as daughter to parent and then the other way around, parent to the child. I doesn't take. I must be missing something but I know I have tried all the obvious. (to me anyway.

Thank you for taking the trouble to respond. I discovered that too. I tried first adding mothers, then fathers, then going to the fathers and mothers to add the person as a son/daughter. I have scanned every window for something I have missed and can't come up with anything. I take it then, that you have had success doing just what I am trying to do?
