Can't open generated reports w/Microsoft Word.app

I upgraded to version 2.292 last night, and discovered if I generated a report (I tried descendants, ancestors, and family group reports) it wouldn't open automatically as it usually does. I get the error msg:

Unable to open file /users/....rtf with Application Microsoft Word.app

The files were generated, but I had to open them by using Microsoft Word's File Open menu.
