How is the following situation recorded in iFamily for Tiger?
Two siblings, one a brother, the other his sister, each married their respective mates. The sister and her husband gave birth to a son (John). The brother and his wife gave birth to a daughter (Ann). Years later John married Ann. They were first cousins. My question is how is this situation recorded in iFamily, or any geneology program for that matter, so that John and Ann each have only one ID number?

Duplicate Persons - First cousin marriages
1. Make sure that the cousins both have birth dates. If not sure then enter approximate dates.
2. Make one of the cousins the Focal Person in the context diagram.
3. Right Click (or Control+LeftClick) on the empty ghost box for the spouse - the ghost box that is directly under the Focal Person.
4. From the pop-up menu select " Attach Existing Person as Spouse"
5. If the cousins' birth dates are 5 years apart then you may have to set a wider range for the birth range filter at the bottom of the dialog.
6. Select the cousin and press " Attach selected person as spouse"
You can repeat the above steps if they married more than one of their cousins, other unrelated people or whatever. We had a case a few weeks ago where a guy married his mother-in-law. In iFamily for Tiger you may also marry your own mother or grandmother but watch out ..... it is not recommended as a good thing to do ...
