Exchange person 1 for person 2

Post by nolasark » Tue Oct 21, 2008 6:22 am

I want myself as person 1 not my ex-husband. I imported a GEDCOM file where I was person 1, but in the iFamily file I am person 2.
How do I permanently change this?

Thank you.

Hi Nola

I can understand why you do not want your ex to be numero uno any more but ....

The Numeric Id of a person is simply a numeric number - it has no meaning. Each person you add to a database will get the next sequential number that has not yet been used.

To create an Ancestral View with yourself as the "Root Person in the Ancestral View"
  • In the Context Diagram double click on the box that contains your name.
  • Open the Preferences panel using the button in the centre of the toolbar.
  • At the bottom of the preferences panel click on "Create Ancestral View for the Focal Person". All your ancestors are now green.
Please also read The Missing Manual - Navigation the Context Diagram on this forum. Try every key stroke and mouse click to see what it does - you will not remember them all - but some will surprise you. There are loads of "squizzy features" to be uncovered, just in the Context Diagram.
