Adding sources

Post by JayR2758 » Thu Oct 15, 2009 5:47 pm

I don&#39t seem to be able to add a new source. Go to add/edit, am presented with page to list data, but only choices to exit are to "close" or to "activate" the source. If I do the latter, it eliminates any source I am already showing for this person.

Adding Sources

Post by NigelRichman » Thu Oct 15, 2009 6:02 pm

Hi Jay,

If you look about halfway down the screen there are plus and minus buttons.

If you click on the Plus you can then enter the Source details in the set of boxes to fill in as required.

Not clicking on the Plus does indeed overwrite a current source reference.

Hope this helps.

Nigel

More on sources

Post by JayR2758 » Thu Oct 15, 2009 8:02 pm

Guess I didn&#39t fully state the problem. I had a source listed with notes, then when I went to add a source, I chose the activate source button. This 1. removed the previous source (it&#39s still in the source index but no longer attached to the original person) and 2. installed the new source I had on the screen. Now I can no longer attach that previous source (13) to the person I am working on.
I&#39m assuming if I had written all the info...title...notes..and then hit the plus sign it would have added it to the no. 13 i had listed with my grandmother.
Thanks.

Hi,

There&#39s a walkthrough of sources and how to use them in the missing manual section of this forum:

Hope this helps.
