I have entered data about a person under two people with the same name.
I expect it won't be the last it will happen.
I wanted to merge the two rather than deleting one and reentering her material.
However, when I go to FILE>COMPARE & MERGE>the four options here are grey and not available. I think I wanted the "Merge Two People Within the Current Database".
Maybe I need to select the "two poeple" in order to "activate" that greyed out area, but I couldn't see how it might be done.
Help, please!

I am responding to myself:
The issue is solved.
In some fit of combo optimism and stubbornness, I tried this again.
This time when I tried it the areas mentioned in initial post were not greyed out, and I successfully followed the rather intuitive process of merging the two.
