Descendant Report

Post by FangioNZ » Fri Jul 22, 2011 8:49 am

Seems to be my day for questions :) Back in the PC days when using Family Tree Maker, Legacy and other such programs it was possible to have a report that included the whole branch of a family including spouses, spouse's parents, children (plus spouses) and of course on down the list ad infinitum.

Are we able to do this easily with iFamily? I do understand that a Descendant Report is just that but when trying to share with family members and others interested in the family there is often a request to show this greater detail, names, events as in birth, death, marriage, with or without full dates, just years, place that these events occurred, as in:

1 John BROWN b 1 Jan 1800 Roscommon, Ireland D 31 Dec 1850, Occ
Wheelwright
+ Honoria SMITH B 2 Feb 1802 Boyle, Ireland, D 30 Nov 1860,
Occ Housewife, M. 28 April 1825 Boyle, Ireland Parents: Joe SMITH &
Mary JONES

2 Marion BROWN b 3 Mar 1826 Boyle Ireland, D 21 October 1862
+ Joseph WRIGHT B abt 1823 London, England M 21 April 1846 D 1870
Parents: Michael WRIGHT & Elisabeth THOMAS

3 Joan WRIGHT
3 Alan WRIGHT
3 Margaret WRIGHT

2 Michael BROWN B 15 Apr 1828 D abt 1880
2 Alice BROWN

etc.
This was a fairly simple system, easy to create and great for sharing. Would love some comments ... some time.
Regards
Anne
