Last name, regular or bold type?

for some reason, if I enter a person's name, in regular type, close that person and return, the last name has been changed to all caps inside the name detail box and shows this way on the family tree. This does not seem to be true for all my many previous entries. Has something changed in the convention about caps for last names?

Access the preferences from the toolbar or the menus.

The option is in there as shown below:
