A 'not' search

Post by hhartman » Sun Dec 18, 2011 1:39 am

Does anyone know if there is a way, either in the index, or elsewhere, to search for people who are 'not' something? For instance, pull up everyone in the index who does not have the surname "Smith"?

Or, is there a way, or a report, to find those who are related to the focal person, instead of all those who are connected? I have several people in my database who are connected, but are not necessarily related and want to only find the relatives.

Hi Holli,

A not search is currently not included in iFamily. An option in the meantime may be to export your search results as a csv, order them by the surname column, then delete the rows containing SMITH. You can then go back to the INDEX and change the focus to the relevant PersonID.

Regards,
Warwick.
