I need to go back to a version of iFamily that works and I'm confused. Which one will work with Yosemite and allow me to generate my HTML?
For Leopard, For Mac, 2.895 or ....... ?

Help!

2.895 for Leopard seems to work with my data but then also freezes on generating html. What to do?

And this is the HTML as it used to look, uploaded with Mavericks and some older version of the program in October:

I left iFamily for Mac on Not Responding for a couple of hours and it completed.
The table is still not clickable and is still huge so it's no good.

The problem lies with retina screens. When iFamily queries the image it replies that it is twice the size it actually it, I need to replace with with a more appropriate method. You will find that the links are indeed working, but they are all in the bottom quarter of the image at the pixels where they are expected to be.

The hang on finish I'm not sure about but have had that reported before. I will investigate when time permits.

Please stick with iFamily for Mac V2.9.1 if possible, the older V2.895 will be deactivated before xmas via an update.

Okay I understand the problem now. As I'm using a retina iMac and retina iPad now I'll have to go look for an older model to use to generate the HTML.
I look forward to receiving a new all singing, all dancing iFamily for Mac as an early xmas gift. :D

My fix is as follows:
I installed iFamily for Mac on a non-retina iMac using Yosemite and moved my database through a home-share.
Working on my Retina iMac I run iFamily and generate my HTML on the non-retina machine.
Once it's saved I transfer the Reports Directory back to my Retina iMac and from there I upload to my website.

To Warwick

What exactly do you mean by:-
"Please stick with iFamily for Mac V2.9.1 if possible, the older V2.895 will be deactivated before xmas via an update”

Have you inserted an "auto destruct" in the program? I’ve always kept an old version of iFamily as a backup in
case anything goes wrong, will that now be impossible?

I didn't know there was a version 2.9.1. 2.895 is all I see.

The download link is under the 'Members Fora' topic Tom. :)

No, no self destruct as such. The best solution i've been able to come up with is to release a V2.898 update which only performs on OSX Tiger and Leopard, but if it detects OSX 10.6->10.10 offers an install path to "for Mac" V2.9.2. (The as yet unreleased one with the plist and html export fixes among others.). A full version public release of "for Leopard" V2.899 would then not offer the for Mac upgrade but will be the full program for free, for Tiger and Leopard exclusively.

Keeping the old dmg is always a good insurance policy. Keep the current V2.895 somewhere safe and delete all the others.

Hi Warwick
That’s an excellent solution. Looking foreword to version 2.9.2 - and hopefully 2.9.n in the future!
Will also keep the Tiger / Leopard version in the background as I also have a back up Mac that can only run Tiger,

Good luck for the future, both for you & iFamily!

Thanks
