Tested with Version 2.14.0 (2922e78). Reports / Ancestors or Descendants... / switch on “One Line per Person”, regardless whether RTFD or RTF selected, the encoding is wrong, like in the attached file. Looks to me like UTF-8 interpreted as plain ASCII, but I might be wrong in that.
Note that switching One Line per Person off fixes the problem, the full reports are OK.
Also, it is harmless, but sort of weird that generating One Line per Person (which does not contain any images) still warns that TextEdit does not read RTF files with embedded images. That warning should occur only when images are to be actually embedded.

I'm using 2.15.0 on macOS Sequoia and do not seem to have the same issue.
Both rtfd & rtf come out as normal text.
