I've imported a GEDCOM into iFamily containing a close DNA match I cannot find a link to. The GEDCOM was provided by that person.
My problem is that indexing starts with one of his ancestors and I would like the index to start with him.
Can I re-index the tree in iFamily and choose which person is index number 1?
Cheers
Chris

Re: Reindexing a Family Tree
Hi Chris
I don’t believe it is possible to change the index numbers in iFamily.
This posting provides some more info on the numbering

Hope that helps

Re: Reindexing a Family Tree
Hi Nigel
Thanks for that link.
One of the things in iFamily which I use frequently is hovering over a person to see their relationship to me.
I have several "secondary" trees which are important based on DNA matches I am slowly piecing together and using the same hover technique is a quick way of testing possible relationship scenarios.
I'll investigate exporting a GEDCOM and then using a GEDCOM editor to re-index. If I find a solution I'll post it here (but I recommend people don't hold their breath!).
Regards
Chris
