Add pictures to places

Keith,

We can add photos of individuals and families and capture images of source documents but we can't add pictures (at least I don't know how to do it) to places. This would be handy when a number of individuals are associated with the same place (hospital, church, house, etc.)

BTW, I am using version 2.260.

In iFamily for Tiger a Place is not actually stored in a database entity of its own - it is derived on-the-fly from other data so it is really just a transient data item.

You can however drag an image from one person's Picture pane onto another person in the Context Diagram.

In iFamily for Leopard there no current intent to enhance the database to allow pictures to be attached to a place.

Keith,

An advantage to storing place data in the database would be to allow for the entry of the history of places. This gives you a sense of the community your ancestor lived in. Also, if you include founding dates, etc. it would allow you to evaluate whether an ancestor could have lived in a place at a particular time.

Just a thought.

I understand what you need + Longitude and Latitude + links to Google Maps.
