Keith,
I'm attaching a screen shot of a piece of the index.html page-- namely the table containing the surnames that serves as an internal table of contents.
I expected that each surname would only be listed once, but it's not. (Example in attached: Barber) And I think I know why. I think that your code for determining a new surname is case-sensitive. So it lists the first set of lower-case Barbers then sees BARBER, thinks it's a new surname and places it in its own box, then sees more lower case Barbers and gives them a third new box. Can you make your code insensitive to case so that all Barbers, no matter if upper or lower case are in the same box? (And therefore listed all together in the section below the table? There, too, they're separated, based on upper or lower case.)
(I use upper case to distinguish direct-line ancestry/descendancy.)
Thanks!

Questions about index.html page
Hi Jillaine
Sorry but the sort needs to handle various accented characters and I would prefer to leave it as is. You may like to try menu option People -> Family Names... to make the names more uniform - there are options to " Uppercase All" and " Capitalise All" .

Oh well.
I use upper case intentionally distinct from upper-lower case to distinguish direct-line descendants and ancestors. So I have no interest in making the case of all surnames uniform.

Where would you like
a'BECKETT and
van WINKEL
to appear in the list?
Together with the other A's and V's or at the end of the list after Z?

V2.380 - changed the sort sequence - the family names " Davies" and " DAVIES" should now appear once only in the index.
