New problem w/ CSV Events Places Report

Post by Kirsten » Sun Apr 03, 2011 9:07 pm

Creating an Events > Events Places > create CSV filtered Place Name Report

New Problem:

I now consistently get nine columns, the last of which is notes.

However, an odd thing. In two lines out of 143, the event name lists not as event name, but a repeat of place name. (Just in case it does matter, I went back and checked for new line character in event notes. There weren't any!)
All the other columns in both cases correct!
In one case event was a birth, the other case a death.

My CSV report goes to Numbers, not Excell.

Any ideas?
I admit that if I never get this little glitch solved, I'll live happily anyway.

I really love working with iFamily

Hi Kirsten,

I haven't seen that problem but the contents of that field can be changed when entering an event.

In my case I change the default 'Occupation' to a description of the actual job - e.g. Agricultural Labourer.

Maybe you have some addresses in the Event field.

If that is not the problem then you may need to e-mail Warwick with your iFamily sql file to see if he can re-create the problem.

I had noticed/discovered that - very nice feature!

Thank you for this comment. I had already checked on the personal event cards and seen that the event columns were fine: They stated event names of "birth" and "death" rather than repeat of place names, but...
I had not checked under EVENTS>EVENT PLACES.
When I went there and looked under the two place names, they did in fact show place names in event spots for those two individuals. Very quick to find and correct.
Thanks, Nigel for inspiring the idea.
