OSX 10.11 - El Capitain
I still wish they'd stuck with the cats. I'll be downloading the new OSX this weekend and checking things out for the next release of iFamily. As always, you will require an upgrade, more details to come.
Re: OSX 10.11 - El Capitain
Looking forward to an upgrade Warwick. I have installed El Capitan on my main machine and as usual, iFamily doesn't work with the new OS. In my book, iFamily is still the best genealogy program around - as long as I can use it…

Hi Warwick,
Any news about iFamiliy on El Capitan?

Re: OSX 10.11 - El Capitain
I too have upgraded to El Capitain so iFamily no longer works, which is indeed a shame as I have a lot of info stored in it.
I eagerly await any news on an iFamily upgrade that will work with El Capitain
Cheers

Re: OSX 10.11 - El Capitain
Hi,
I installed the new version 2.9.2. But now I only get the RoyaL Family pedigree on the screen. Please help. How do I get access to my own pedigree with over 2000 names?
I am running El Capitain version 10.11.

Re: OSX 10.11 - El Capitain
Aarne, iFamily stores your family data in the library Users > username > iFamilyData > yourtreename.FtkSql. You simply need to open this instead of the default/supplied Royal family tree.
Re: OSX 10.11 - El Capitain
I am also having trouble finding my data file since upgrading. It is not located under the path specified above.

Try searching for FtkSql with Finder and it should turn up the location of your iFamilyData directory.debrahay wrote:I am also having trouble finding my data file since upgrading. It is not located under the path specified above.
Use File->Open.. from the iFamilyMenus when you have located the folder and database file.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Warwick! I was trying to search but I'm also learning how to use the new OSX and that was confusing me! I'll have the file somewhere as I backed up before I upgraded...
