Sorting the list of children from the oldest to the youngest

Post by chandrawells » Wed Oct 28, 2015 8:46 am

Hi...I am very new to iFamily for Mac program. I am trying to organise a book of family tree for my Indonesian descendants. I found difficulties sorting the children list in order of whom is the oldest. It turned up as I numbered them and the order is all over the place. For instance it shows as the number 1 is placed at the last list. How could i fix it so it can be listed it accordingly. Thank you

Hi Chandra,

Have you entered the date of birth for the children?

This is the only way I know to list them in the correct order. I believe it is alphabetical if no dates provided.

If you are not too sure of the birthdays you can enter 'abt 1980' for example to get the right sorting.

I would advise against trying to modify the names by adding numbers to change the sort order for obvious reasons.

Hope that helps

Nigel
